Cineworld Secret Screaming 2 Date Announced for August We Take a Look at What It Could Be

Over the years of being a Cineworld Unlimited member, we have had some amazing movies as part of the Cineworld Secret Screenings, now Cineworld has announced Secret Screaming 2 which will be taking place on August 12th. With this being the second Secret Screaming it’s time to speculate on what the film could be. The age certificate for the upcoming screening is listed as 15 on the website. While the listed runtime is only 90 minutes, this could be a red herring. The first Secret Screaming was In a Violent Nature.

I always find secret screenings to be extremely exciting. As we enter the cinema, we have no idea what the movie will be and love the excitement for a surprise. The Cineworld Secret Screaming is open to non-unlimited members too, so now everyone gets the chance to experience the same treat that we Unlimited Members get during the Unlimited Secret Screenings from time to time.

With the news of the Cineworld Secret Screaming 2, we thought we would take the opportunity to see what film could be shown on August 12th.

Horror movies are certainly on the rise in the cinemas lately and it’s great to see the genre back, although there aren’t that many set for release before the 12th of August.

Alien: Romulus – August 16

Ridley Scott has been busy creating the world of Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. However, the latest instalment, directed by Fede Álvarez (Evil Dead), will be a standalone adventure set between the events of Alien and Aliens.

Alien: Romulus has been on the lips of the fans for a while now and is expected to offer a different story from the previous films. While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe.

Stream – August 21

The Keenan family’s simple weekend getaway truly turns into a vacation to die for, as four deranged killers playing a sadistic game lock down their hotel and compete for the most creative murders of all the guests.

The Crow – August 23

Not so much a horror, but the reboot of Brandon Lee’s Swan Song is sadly coming! When soulmates Eric and Shelly are brutally murdered, Eric is given the chance to save his true love by sacrificing himself and sets out to seek revenge, traversing the worlds of the living and the dead to put the wrong things right.

Cuckoo – August 23 – The Movie Shown at Secret Screaming 2

A 17-year-old girl is forced to move with her family to a resort where things are not what they seem. Check out our review of Cuckoo here on Blazing Minds.

Blink Twice – August 23

Not so much a horror for a Secret Screaming but more of a psychological horror, but you never know. When tech billionaire Slater King meets cocktail waitress Frida at his fundraising gala, sparks fly. He invites her to join him and his friends on a dream vacation on his private island. It’s paradise. Wild nights blend into sun-soaked days and everyone’s having a great time. No one wants this trip to end, but as strange things start to happen, Frida begins to question her reality. There is something wrong with this place. She’ll have to uncover the truth if she wants to make it out of this party alive.

AfrAId – August 30

The Curtis’ family is selected to test a new home device: a digital assistant called AIA. AIA learns the family’s behaviours and begins to anticipate their needs. And she can make sure nothing – and no one – gets in her family’s way.

Movies That Are Far Off but You Never Know!

These are the wildcards for the Cineworld Secret Screaming 2 as they are pushing way past July 3rd, but you never know if we could be getting to a very early “screaming” of a film that is into August, it has been known in the past for Cineworld to treat us with a film a month in advance. So here are my wildcard possibilities for the Secret Screaming 2.

Starve Acre – September 6

An idyllic rural family life of a couple is thrown into turmoil when their son starts acting out of character.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice – September 6

After a family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her teenage daughter, Astrid, accidentally opens the portal to the Afterlife.

Speak No Evil – September 13

A family is invited to spend a weekend in an idyllic country house, unaware that their dream vacation will soon become a psychological nightmare.
