I can’t believe that it’s been five years since Hickorys opened in Rhos-On-Sea, way back then I was asked to a special evening to check out the venue before it officially opened.

Over the five years, I’ve had every Christmas at Hickorys and even had the birthday celebrations for not only myself but also team get togethers for for Blazing Minds to celebrate the website anniversary as well.

There have been many changes to the Hickorys Smokehouse in Rhos-On-Sea, the food has had subtle changes over the years and most recently the outside area has had a major revamp with a fantastic kids play area, dog station and some great huts for those that like to have the BBQ feel and outside eating.

It’s not just about eating and drinking with family and friends at Hickorys, it’s also about having fun and over the years, the team have put together some great nights for people to enjoy, there are the Superbowl nights for the sports fans, nights of great music and cocktails, special occasions and there is an upcoming event planned for a type of local sellers market with people from the area (a 10 mile radius), to see locally made produce etc.

So as you can see the team behind Hickorys in Rhos-On-Sea certainly think about the area and the community and to give back something for all the kindness that others give to them.

As I mentioned earlier, I still can’t believe that five years has gone by so quickly, but you know what they say, “time flies when you’re having fun“, on Friday night it was an honour to be invited over to celebrate the fifth birthday at Hickorys.

The night full of laughter and excitement as I chatted with the other guests during the evening and was treated to a delicious Hickorys Ale (my favourite), along with nibbles that had been prepared by Craig Gibson and the Chef to give out taste buds a good going over.

I have to say that my favourite nibbles from the night were the pulled pork treats on a crispy bread base and the fiery hot chicken on sticks, wow they certainly had a kick, but myself and the gentlemen I was chatting to had a taste for them.

Ah the cake, this was amazing, it not only looked stunning, but it also tasted just as stunning, certainly one for those that love birthday cakes that have a little something different about them.

I have to say a massive thanks to Craig and all the team at Hickorys Smokehouse in Rhos-On-Sea, the last five years have been amazing and you guys have always looked after me and my team when we have popped in, here’s to many more years of amazing food, great events and much more.
