Those of you that have been reading Blazing Minds for a while will have seen me mention Hickory’s Smokehouse in Rhos On Sea several times, such as my review of the opening night and the review of the Friday Live evening, last night I popped over to Hickory’s Smokehouse to check out the new look of the redesigned outdoor area.
Now before I start I have to say that of all the times that I have been to Hickory’s Smokehouse in Rhos On Sea I have never actually sat outside, I’ve always opted to sit inside, to be honest sitting outside, open to the elements, has never really appealed to me, but after hearing about the revamp of the outside area and idea of “cabins” to seat in, I just had to pop on over.
But it’s not just the eating area that has had a facelift, the children’s play area has also had some world done and now it’s even better for the kids to go off and blow off some steam with a rope climbing steps, an amazing tube shoot for them to slide down, a table tennis table and more, while the adults, kick back and enjoy the chance to let their food go down without darting off. On the other side of the play area, near the back of the main building is a nice setup area for families or larger parties that may require more seating.
If memory serves me right, behind the shutters is the cinema area that another great way to keep the kids occupied on those colder evenings.
Talking of those colder evenings, Hickory’s Smokehouse have thought of those as well, with a cold breeze sometimes coming over Rhos On Sea from the coast, the cabins have their own heaters, these are turned on with a simple push button that turns them on and off if you leave them on they are on a timer which will turn them off, but boy oh boy do the heaters throw out some heat, I tried ours last night, it gives you a sudden boost of warmrth and a lovely orange glow to the cabin that you are sitting in, it felt so cosy.
In the centre area of the new outdoor area, there is a seating area that has a log burner in the middle of the square table area, allowing those that are sitting in the area to keep lovely and warm while enjoying their meals and drinks in the light summer evenings.
As last night was such a lovely night the Live Friday Night Music performers were outside with some brilliant acoustic sets to delight the guests during their night out. I always love to have live music playing at a venue that the same old audio tracks that most places seem to have and for me, this is another reason why I like Hickory’s Smokehouse on a Friday night, the live music sessions are always a pleasure to listen to.
As with all my previous visits to Hickory’s Smokehouse in Rhos on Sea, the meal was superb yet again, perfectly cooked and brought over by the staff, I’ve been to many places for meals over the years, but Hickory’s still has my top marks for the pointless and helpfulness from the staff and last night was no exception, a pure joy to visit.
Having a look around the new outside area at @Hickorys_ #Rhos, certainly caters for plenty of people and the children's play area is huge, so the kids can let of some steam while the adults kick back for a while ????? #NorthWales #NightsOut #PlacesToVisit pic.twitter.com/F4HlYdImwP
