WP Review Pro adds so much more to your Blog Reviews

Many of you that read Blazing Minds, will have seen the review ratings that we use on the website, we recently got the chance to upgrade the plugin that we use, WP Review Free to WP Review Pro, which if you have the free version on your review site, you will have seen the many options that are ghosted for the Pro version only.

Having a review site such as Blazing Minds, it was an easy decision to opt for WP Review Pro, we have a lot of reviews on the website from books to movies and having the chance to bring our readers an in-depth look at our reviews, the options that WP Review Pro have over the free version are a welcome inclusion to the look and feel of the reviews on Blazing Minds.

Installing the plugin is easy, after you have downloaded the pro version from My Theme Shop, you upload the zip file to your WordPress install via the “add new” option on your WordPress dashboard, you simply then activate it to bring you many options, that at first may seem a little complicated, but are the key options for the reviews on your site.

WP Review Pro an Google Snippets

The advantage of WP Review Pro is you get 14 types of snippets for your reviews, not just one, now when we do reviews, we can choose the correct snippet for the review, such as books, movies, products and more, this all adds to the reviews having all the information we need for Google to find the snippets and place them along with them on the search results (it’s down to Google whether or not then use the snippets, not the plugin).

It’s Got The Look

Unlike Wp Review Free, the pro version brings you a choice of 16 predefined designs to add to the reviews section of your article, the designers give you more than just a summary and star ratings, they give you the chance to make your review show those key elements that you want to put forward in your review.

Adding features with rating along with your summary, you can also add the pros and cons of your review, all put together in your chosen design, which can be edited to the colours of your choice and you are not limited to using the design on every review, there is the option to use your default design or choose another when editing your article, so you can have one that looks great for games and another that you can use for your movie reviews or products.

Having this option in WP Review Pro certainly outweighs the look that the free version has on offer.

One of the things that caught my eye is the Notification Bar, which you will see at the top of this review, it’s a great way to bring the reader’s attention to the rating and where the item that you have reviewed can be purchased, very handy and it is also customizable so that you can bring it in line with the style of your website.

You can also have a popup, that will open up when a visitor leaves your page and give them the option of more reviews that they may have missed, handy if you have a lot of reviews and I dare say that your visitors will be interested in reading more of your thoughts of the reviews that are mentioned.

There’s More to Review Than Stars!

Here on Blazing Minds, we use the “star” rating out of 5, but if you want something more then point, percentage, thumbs up and circle ratings, but you can use these whenever you wish, you don’t have to be tied down to using the same grading all the time, although we do here, you are free to make the choice.

If you like your readers to have their say on your reviews as well, then this can easily be done with WP Review Pro, with users being able to leave their own comments and scores on the review and even like or dislike other comments.

Something we’re looking to trying out very soon here on Blazing Minds are the integrated reviews from other sources such as Google Places, Yelp Reviews and Facebook Reviews, all of which we can see coming in handy when we have more reviews of restaurants etc.

WP Review Pro and Multiple WordPress Users

If you run a website such as ours, having some abilities for Admins, Editor and Contributors is a must and WP Review Pro and its built-in role-manager is a very useful option to have, giving the various users options and some users fewer options so you have control over the plugin with your WordPress team.

MyThemeShop Great Team Support

One of the many things that make a plugin fall by the wayside is the lack of support, that’s not an issue when you use MyThemeShop and since upgrading to WP Review Pro, I’ve been in touch with the team on several occasions, to ask about the plugin and I have to say that they have been fantastic with very good support and helping out quickly and sufficiently.

Are You Serious About Reviews

If like us here on Blazing Minds you review a lot on your blog/website, then WP Review Pro is certainly the plugin for you, but if you aren’t too sure you can take the free version for spin to see how it looks on your blog, but if you want all the extra features that certainly bring your reviews to life with snippets and much more, then we would recommend going for WP Review Pro.
